Now that I've figured out how this works.
Haha! I'm posting a journal!!!

It's my first time on DW, so far not bad.
I mean, it was nice to see some familiar faces. Now I don't feel alone.

With all of the issues my favorite community has been having, the mods still managed to pull through strong. Then they devised this "recovery plan" and took refuge on Dreamwidth. I admire them for their hard work and dedication. "Keep up the good work Alex and Marysa!" *salute*

I have many memories and a few friends/family that I left behind on Livejournal...

But... it's starting to get warmer outside.
Spring is upon us...
"Tabula Rasa" my friends... to start anew with a blank slate.
Spring initiates the start of new beginnings. Hopefully we will all start off with a good beginning.

And to the destroyer of communities and dreams...
"et tu Brute?" for you have betrayed us all.
(wow, I'm just full of quotes today)

New hobby.

Just yesterday, I received a "Dollfie" from Japan... and I love it.
My interest has been captured by Japan's "doll culture."
Mainly, it's my cousins' fault...
My cousin Toto collected "Blythe", which were dolls that had Barbie bodies, but they had heads which were x10 the size of a normal doll head. Imagine Barbie with elephantiasis. Don't get me wrong, Blythes are cool, but they kind of scare me. Then there was Toto's sister, Kapan, who also collected Blythe dolls. Kapan even "built" a dollhouse with realistic furniture... I became fascinated by the world of "custom dolls."

Anyways, a Dollfie is a 1/6 scale custom doll about the size of a Barbie doll. Dollfies are from Japan and have been very popular for decades along with it's cousins, Blythe, Pullip, Momoko, and Super Dollfie. Dollfies are very special and stand out from other customizable dolls. They're well known for being the first "ball-jointed" doll. Basically, Dollfies were designed to be anatomically accurate. Meaning that they have a full range of motion in pose, positioning, and posture based on movements that are humanly possible by nature. They can pose like humans very easily.
This is my Dollfie, I still haven't named her:

Not only are they ball jointed, but they are literally fully customizable.
You can change the hair, eyeballs, limbs, clothes, head, shoes, eyelashes, and makeup. Mine has no makeup because you have to hire and artist to paint your doll. But I did get eyes for it, the doll actually doesn't come with anything, it was just a manikin.

Don't the eyes look creepy?
Well... the hair was Miki's idea...
The hair looks kind of like G-Dragon's Heartbreaker hair.

Meh, the hair is parted in the opposite direction.
Working on customizing a Dollfie to your liking is really fun. It really does make you feel like a kid again. But then again, there are no age boundaries for enjoying a hobby, but for the hardcore doll maintenance... it kind of is for grown ups. As a matter of fact, Dollfie collecting and maintaining is such a large part in Japanese society that they actually built a "church" dedicated in worshiping Dollfies... There is a perfectly customized angelic Super Dollfie(4 times bigger than a normal Dollfie) that sits on an alter in that church... That's Japan for ya!

When I am able to afford it... I want to buy my Dollfie a nicer outfit such as this:

This is a Dollfie model from an online shop.
See! Decked out Dollfies look cool and realistic!
Dollfie outfits are very expensive because they are made by special doll designers.
Since I'm so cheap, I'm having my Dollfie live off of Barbie clothes.

And.... I like to scare people in my house, like Miki and my roommate:

My Dollfie is holding a screwdriver, how lovely...
Hehehe... my sick sense of humor...
Not something you'd want to see upon entering your room.
I'm having so much fun!!!
I might even get a guy Dollfie so my Dollfie won't be lonely.
Hmm... but who should I model the guy after???????

Until next time, thanks for reading the special post.
Bye for now.
