When I was 5 years old, I remembered my parents took my sister and I on a trip to the UK to go visit my uncle Nick and my cousin Jax. They lived in London, my uncle even owned a restaurant, I also remembered eating there. A few blocks down from my uncle's restaurant was a giant toy store, I think it was the biggest toy store in London. Then, not too far from that toy store there was a candy shop. At that candy shop, I had my first "marshmallow rope," it was the sweetest softest gooiest treat I've ever eaten, a real sugar rush. It was basically big strands of puffed marshmallow that was woven into a rope. It was so good!!! Every time we went to my uncle's restaurant, Miki and I stopped by that candy shop just for marshmallow ropes. The marshmallow ropes were ONLY available in LONDON to my knowledge, because we never went outside of London, except for a quick trip to Paris, France. Went I got back to Chicago, I was so sad because there weren't any marshmallow ropes for me to enjoy anymore. The marshmallow ropes were the most memorable treat from that vacation to London.

The top 3 things I absolutely miss from the United Kingdom:
1) Marshmallow Ropes
2) Marmite (spreadable yeast extract beer leftovers)
3) English Toffee

Today...
I was so surprised to see my favorite childhood treat being sold at a dollar store:
MARSHMALLOW ROPES!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't believe it!!!!!!
These delicious morsels I have been longing for ever since I've returned from London 15 years ago is being sold in a dollar store near my house. Out of all the places, the local dollar store?! I'd understand if it was a specialized candy shop... but dollar store??? I was so happy to even see these again, I thought I would never have the chance to eat these again!!! Marshmallow ropes are my absolute favorite candy, I would do ANYTHING for a marshmallow rope!!! I did buy two packages of marshmallow ropes, because I was unsure if I would like the taste of these American imitations. Each pack contains 10 ropes. I opened one of them and tried it, it tasted just like the one I had in London as a child! It brought back so many memories of my trip to London. I'm totally going to stock up on these!

Another great thing that happened today...
I got a hold of my friend, for once!
I have been calling their house every other day for A WHOLE YEAR!!! And yes, she still lives at her house, I just never seem to call at the right time, since I don't know her schedule. Every time I call, there's either no answer or her mom answers and usually tells me that my friend isn't home at the moment. After these recent weeks of calling, I was starting to get a little annoyed because the anime convention is only 15 days away. I really needed to find out if my friend Sylwia was going or not. My friend has a Polish name, the "w" sounds like a "v", so the name is read like Sylvia, but spelled Sylwia. I've been calling her for a year and today she answered.
Sylwia has been my friend since high school. I knew her through my other friend Angela. At first, I was really shy, you know, I had trust issues. It took me a while to open up and express myself better. After I became more comfortable with expressing myself, Sylwia saw how much of a good person I was. Even now, Sylwia sees me as a role model, because I have a good heart, I know how to cheer people up, I'm creative, I'm brave, I'm funny and I'm loyal.

I'm glad Sylwia's my friend. If I could describe Sylwia, she is the happiest person I have ever met. I've never really seen her with any other emotion, she is pure happiness. If you take a look at all of my friends in high school, you can tell that me being friends with Sylwia is highly unlikely. Most of my friends at the time were mostly guys... gamers, jocks and otakus. I got along with guys very easily. I had almost no friends that were girls. Let alone happy girly girls. I had trust issues, it was difficult for me to make friends. I'm absolutely proud to have Sylwia as a friend, she doesn't know it, but she's been inspirational to me. In high school, I was a bit of a sad person, I never smiled and the other kids picked on me for no reason. When I became angry enough, I intimidated everyone with my strength. I broke objects and (if they assaulted me) body parts. I was protecting myself from the harassment by the other students with my misguided pain and anger. Sylwia changed how I viewed things. I think some of  her happiness has rubbed off on me. I was very happy to be able to talk to her over the phone today.

Until next time, bye again.

If anyone recalls from yesterday's post...
I just got "Super Smash Bros. Brawl." Well... I just beat mission mode in one sitting...(15 hours of gameplay). Wow, I'm a nerd! I played it on normal level, yet it still seemed hard. I'm rusty at this game, I played "Super Smash Bros. Melee"(older game) a lot back then, until Lester borrowed it and never gave it back. I'm still mad at him for that! I was once able to easily play on extreme difficulty level, now I can't anymore.

But seriously, WHAT AM I DOING?!
I'm supposed to finish up my math homework and prepare for finals and start working on my art presentation, but what am I doing???
Here I am, playing video games for countless hours like the idiot I am!!! I don't like being a professional procrastinator. I need to get started on that soon...

I had an idea!!!
Instead of me cosplaying for the Anime Com, how about I sew a costume for my Pullip instead? They are doing Pullip photo sessions, why not? I want to sew a cute little lolita outfit for my Pullip, wouldn't that be adorable? My, my, aren't I getting off topic...

Oh! Since I've already brought up the Anime Con(ACen), I saw an interesting picture of my friend that he posted up on his Blogspot. Wondering what this has to do with ACen? Well... you see... my friend(Miki's friend too) Yanho(whom we just call Yan) works for the Anime Convention Committee. Yan helps run/organize panels and discussions. Because he works at ACen, he gets free admission badges... Yan's roommate from last years con.... PRICELESS!!! He got to room with the convention's mascot, "Sailor Bubba!" Sailor Bubba is one of the guys in charge of the entire convention. I'll show you what I'm talking about.

People always seemed disturbed when they spot Sailor Bubba!
Yup, that's Yan's boss... a fat bearded man in a Sailor Moon costume.
I've met Sailor Bubba and he's a really nice man, he's very kind. Intimidating, but kind.

But no, that's not the interesting picture I'm talking about, but Yan did put up that picture last year. I'm referring to a recent family picture of Yan's. He put it up on his Blogspot, I just thought it looked funny.

Go ahead, guess which one Yan is.
Hint: Guy with the ridiculous pose.
Oh, I just gave the answer away. Yeah... Yan loves his epic poses... you have yet to see his jumping still shots, the guy is amazing... Jumping shots never seem to work on most cameras, but Yan always pulls it off, amazing hang-time. The last time I saw Yan was way back in February for the Utada concert. He gets to hang out with Miki every other day, he can't come over because of his cat allergy(we have a cat).

GAHHHH!!!! I should stop writing and focus on schoolwork!!!
Until next time, bye again!
