I've been bored during my freetime and times where I choose to neglect my job at work. I've just been looking around at some dramas to watch. Like I said before, I "was" watching "Shibatora,"  but I put it on hold because I can't get the 7th episode. Teppei is so great in that drama. I haven't seen him in anything else lately. Shibatora is an "old" series, so I guess I'm a little behind. But that's just the way I am, I don't always get to watch something the same year it comes out. Sometimes because I haven't heard about it at the time or I'm not familiar with the cast yet.

This will seem a little off topic, but just recently I finished the entire "Meitantei Loki Ragnarok" anime series.

Approximately 26 episodes in total. It's a mystery genre anime about how the Norse "God of Mischief" (Loki) was exiled from Asgard, sent to earth, turned into a child by his father Odin, had his memories wiped, his powers limited, he searches for the truth behind all of it and gathers evil energy on earth in order to return to the realm of the gods so he can face Odin. That was the reason why he opened a detective agency, strange mysteries often result in evil energy. In the first episode, Loki is joined by a human high school girl named Mayura, whom is obsessed with occult and paranormal mysteries. Mayura just ends up stalking Loki the entire series because they always encounter strange mysteries together. Throughout the whole series, Odin sends the other gods to assassinate Loki, but most of them fail and become Loki's friends. For the entire series, Mayura has no idea of Loki's true identity as a Norse god. It wasn't until much later in the series that Mayura begun to question the fact that Loki was different from everyone else, but even then... she still had no clue... part of it was due to the fact that she was always unconscious or not present when Loki used his magical powers to fight.

To sum the anime up... detective mystery + comedy + Norse mythology + Japanese randomness. The first time I saw this series was in English dub. This is my second time watching, but in Japanese this time. Even after watching this for a second time... I still did not understand the series! The reason for Loki's exile still remained unclear no matter how many times I've rewatched it. They kept changing the reasons in the show, all of them proven false too. It's a good anime, watch it. If you get lost in the story like most other people, it's alright, there are plenty of Japanese jokes that will keep you entertained.

Since "I am" supposed to be talking about Japanese dramas, let's get down to what else I've been watching lately...

Okay, so I did mention that I was watching "The Quiz Show 2." I was watching by myself, but then I got Miki into it, so we watched together. I don't care much for Sakurai Sho, I was watching because of Yokoyama Yu. You know... I thought he was going to have another cool yet silly role like in "Yukan Club," but I was totally wrong!!! At first in this drama, he was kind of funny, his character was a cool and persuasive show director. Sakurai Sho's character is apparently kept in a mental institution when he's not hosting the Quiz Show as he suffers from severe amnesia. It was shocking for me to see Yu's character portrayed as the evil villain pulling all the strings on/off the show.

Now remember, the Quiz Show is a somewhat falsely set up gameshow created to lure greedy people in. As innocent as the game questions start off, these contestants are tricked into confessing their own unsolved crimes or guilt until they break down or go insane.

It was convincingly well done to look like a real gameshow spin-off of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." Everything is normal and okay on the set of the Quiz Show. See, Sakurai Sho's character (pictured above), named Kamiyama, looks fine like this, but then...

Yu's character (dressed in black), named Honma, keeps him in the cell of a mental institution and forces Kamiyama (dressed in white) to remember his difficult past that was suppressed by amnesia. Honma basically tortures Kamiyama at the end of each episode, trying to force a memory out of Kamiyama.

I'm not enjoying this evil Yokoyama Yu. I prefer him as that silly guy who keeps the rest of Kanjani 8 laughing with delight. Honma appeared as the one with the mental disorder, not Kamiyama.

It's creepy.
If you're well adjusted to repetition and easily amused by twisted mind bending logic, WATCH THIS DRAMA, it's a power trip. If con-artists, dark secrets, and gameshows bore you, then you will be bored after ten minutes of the first episode. But I thought it was a great drama. Yokoyama Yu crying... the most amusing thing to watch... I'm serious, but you'd need to watch the series all the way through to know what I was talking about.

Next series I started watching is "Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge."
Okay, so this series is about these four handsome guys (F4 rip-off? I'm kidding) which all comfortably live together in a nice big mansion. Living in the mansion with them is the mansion owner's son. One day they get a video call from the mansion owner saying that the four guys will be forced to pay rent(which had always been free) or if they couldn't pay, they'd be evicted. However, the mansion owner negotiates a deal with the guys if they wish to remain in the mansion free of charge... The deal was, if they can transform the mansion owner's niece into the perfect proper lady, then they would be allowed to continue living in the mansion. The biggest problem is... the so-called-niece is far off from being a "proper lady." The niece has an interest in darkness, anatomic plastic models, skulls, and all things death related. Looks like the boys have one tough mission ahead.

Kame has the lead role in this one. He always gets all the major roles, it can't be helped... he's a good actor afterall. In this drama, Kame seems very straight-forward. He's ill-tempered and impatient, but you can tell his intentions are good. He tries his best everyday, even after many failed attempts. He'll do anything to maintain his "free rent." However... if Kame used the same training method from "Nobuta wo Produce," I bet the drama would end too quickly.

But also co-starring a few other Johnnys as well, Tegoshi and Uchi. Oh wow, the triple threat.

I remember how awesome Tegoshi was in "My Boss, My Hero." I haven't seen Tegoshi actually act very much in a while. In this drama, his character was super feminine for a guy. As a matter of fact, he looked stunningly gorgeous in drag with that cute pink dress and hair extensions in this first episode. I had no idea his figure actually suited him well as a girl too. His reputation has apparently gone downhill, so I don't know what the situation with his popularity is anymore. I still think you're awesome (as an actor).

As for Uchi... he was demoted and on the verge of getting fired the last  time I saw him. So Uchi is making a comeback in the drama world huh? Well, the first time I noticed his comeback was in "Osen," ah the wonderful drama about old style food. In this drama, Uchi plays the ONLY responsible/mature guy in the household, everybody else in the house doesn't exactly think straight... Uchi's plans and reasoning actually works, while the other three guys' logic always seem to end in disaster. Miki finds Uchi to be attractive and she claims he's hot. Really? Uhh... Miki... I'm not seeing it... I don't know, I'm not into Uchi. But I loved his role in Osen. Ohh... that OP... Uchi crashing into the floor in slow motion... EPIC!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways... Yamato is by far excellent. It's funny and cute and therefore awesome. I'd recommend this! It has so many cliches but you can't help but want to watch for the pure enjoyment of the cheesiness factor. You wanna know what I think about this drama? "I think it's t-t-t... too... too... DAZZLING!!!!!!" *hiss, run away from brightness* But seriously, this drama is good.

That's all I got for now, I might find some more dramas to watch in the near future.
Until next time, see you again later.

There was a rather annoying tornado warning for all of Fox River Valley, that includes Batavia. Just in case anything does happen, all we need to do is cross the bridge over the fox river and go to the tornado shelter in city hall. My restaurant doesn't have a basement... The Fox Valley area is a tornado hotspot in Illinois. It was so weird... It was hot and sunny this morning and then it got really dark, I mean REALLY dark. Next thing I knew... there were whole tree branches flying pass my windows. As strong as the wind was, it wasn't true tornado speed. Tornado speed wind can lift you off the ground and knock over powerlines... I won't explain how I know that. But it was strong enough to rip the trees apart. There was a heavy downpour too. Visibility was horrible, all you could see was water and mist, it was like a thick fog of water, you couldn't see anything in front of you. The thunder was really loud and scary too. The Fox River is going to crest, I know it will. Tomorrow will be a day of shovels and sandbags.

Besides the freaky weather, I found an agreeable Yokoyama Yu drama. Again, a minorly major role. This drama is called, "The Quiz Show 2" as it is the second season of the installment.

It's about a crazy gameshow host with a "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" setup and he tricks a group of contestants into a sort of dilemma regarding confessing to convictions/crimes and winning or saving their own skins and losing. The whole show is mind-bending! It's very psychological and very much fictional. It's like "Kurosagi" all over again, but in the innocent cover of a gameshow. Except Sakurai Sho has the lead role in this one. I know Yu will end up with a comedic role as usual. I can't wait to start watching this one. Then again, it would be really awkward if Yu got a serious role...

Arata kept recommending "Mr. Brain" because it has a similar feel to "Galileo." I don't know... I'm getting mixed opinions about that one from many people. I liked Galileo a lot, but the mysteries in it were baffling. No normal person would be able to figure them out, the murders were very complex. As for Mr. Brain, Arata kept stressing on Gackt's guest appearance in the drama and mentioned Kame making an appearance too.

My summer is beyond boring! Will someone... anyone give me j-drama suggestions that aren't "Wallflower" or "Mr. Brain," please...

Until next time, bye again.

So last week, I had the same lady who had high expectations. Since I had some basic knowledge of skating, she always asked me to do basic things like I should already know what they are. She would skate up to me and say, "work on swizzles and holding-strokes, I'll be right back." Because I'm just a beginner who pretty much skated for an entire season without any guidance, so I'm like, "WTF?! What's a friggin swizzle?! *dumbfound* A what stroke...? Hey, help me out, I have no idea what you're talking about." Her method is "listen to me and do it and I'll be right back." It doesn't help that she doesn't pay attention to our mistakes or even corrects them. I understand her, she needed to teach two classes at once because the second instructor had personal problems and was away for two sessions. Leaving her to watch two classes.

So today, the other instructor finally returned. His name is Adam and he's my new skating instructor. Apparently he's the crazy technical guy who wants everything to be perfect. He's a drill sergeant when it comes to posture and technique. He won't let you move on to the next lesson until you've mastered your current lesson. Miki was jealous because she prefers Adam. Miki got stuck with that other lady because Miki's in a different level from me. Miki told me that Adam is good because he works with everyone individually to perfect every detail.

Today, Adam kept picking on me because I don't hold my arms out for balance, I don't bend my knees, I don't skate with my feet together, I don't stroke properly, and I slouch. He made me do a whole bunch of ridiculous exercises because I lacked basics, understandable because I'm untrained. Besides being a crazy neat-freak, Adam's a cool instructor. I look forward to future sessions.

I've been taken to work again...
While at work. I was really bored and started looking up drama series to watch. I was in the mood for a Yokoyama Yu drama, I haven't seen him since "Yukan Club."

I really like Yokoyama Yu, he looks funny(in a good way) and he's very silly. I like hearing his ever-so-rare cheesy Chinese. Yu also does the best/funniest manzai acts I have ever seen. I was looking up both new and old dramas. I found one.... but... I was a little shocked. I ended up finding... I found yet another "Hey Say" drama with the same kid, Yamada Ryosuke. That boy shows up in everything I watch and he's on the cover of almost every magazine I look at.

This drama is called "Hidarime Tantei EYE." I spotted it because Yokoyama was on the cast list. I know for a fact that Yokoyama never gets major roles, but even though his roles are minor, he still plays a significant character. Anyways, Yokoyama gets killed in this drama and Yamada's character gets an eye transplant from deceased Yokoyama(they play brothers) and now he gets weird visions of what events led up to Yokoyama's death. I haven't watched this drama yet but I was like, "noooooo they killed off Yokoyama, oh wow Yu's gone downhill since Yukan Club." So... the debuted Johnny plays a dead guy with a minor yet significant role and the Jr. gets the lead role... Can't blame them, Yamada Ryosuke's got a good amount of acting experience and he's adorable. I remember from a while back, he had a minor role in "One Pound Gospel." That was one interesting drama, but I couldn't take it seriously nor could it's silliness hold my attention for long... because it was just another "Kame" drama and it felt a bit repetitive. Moving back to Hidarime Tantei EYE... I will attempt to watch this new detective drama, also because "Meitantei no Okite's" subs are taking forever and "Shibatora" refuses to let me obtain it. But yeah... this boy... Yamada Ryosuke... is everywhere...

Until next time... Hey... anyone have any j-drama recommendations???
I could really use some, I need to watch something during my rare freetime.

Not only was the skating instructor frightening, but she was downright intimidating! She had a really mean looking face and she had a booming voice. Her teaching methods were questionable... it was along the lines of, "do this and I'll get back to you later." She was teaching two levels at the same time, on the same rink. She was going back and forth. I didn't feel like I learned very much because she didn't explain clearly enough and I had no idea if I was even doing it right because she kept leaving.

There were only two levels being taught today, pre-alpha and alpha levels. I was placed right between the two because I could definitely stand on my own, I can move, and I can brake, but I didn't know other basics like swiveling or strokes. Originally I was placed into pre-alpha, but then I was put on the spot in front of other classmates because I already knew how to skate. I felt like an outcast... I was the only person in hockey skates... everybody else had figure skates, but I still had to learn the same basics like everyone else. Today, I practiced strokes on both left and right skates. I didn't realize that skating took that much energy and power, I was worn out very quickly. My legs were hurting so much, so I sat down and removed the insoles from my skates, it does help. By the end of today, I'm not sure if I really learned anything today.

When I got back home, my roommate informed me that a package arrive for me. I got really excited and attacked the package. My roommate asked me, "AAA again?" I replied, "of course, what else would it be?" I opened the tube and there were my AAA posters from the "Heart to ♥ Tour." My roommate then said, "wow, so pretty." I went into my room and took my custom frame off the wall. I slipped one of the new posters into the frame and re-hung it on the wall above the bunkbed. My roommate then walked into my room and stared at the new poster. My roommate then started talking about AAA. I'll paraphrase because I despise my roommate's English. "I'm starting to like AAA, I can't help it, it's all because of you, it's AAA in your face, like AAA spam, your room is just loaded with AAA posters, calenders, CDs, pictures, products, and artwork. It's like I can't wake up without seeing that giant poster at my bedside. You are a true AAA fan and now I might become one too!" I said, "Oh yeah? You haven't seen my room when I had tons of KAT-TUN stuff. I still have that KAT-TUN flag I made, it's behind my bed." KAT-TUN didn't exactly meet with my expectations, so I had to let them go and move on to a different group to listen to. Like "Golf & Mike," I began to hate them because they were....... meh, I don't want to say it, I'll be nice, I won't destroy their fanbase just because I know the truth. It's information that people who know them in real life would know. Even though I don't like them, I'll keep my mouth shut for their sake.

Moving on to yesterday with Jason...
Okay, I invited Jason over yesterday. One reason is a secret(I promised not to say anything), the other reason is to watch the rest of "Love Exposure," and mainly to hang out. We were texting each other with plans, and I mentioned that I watched Jason's recommended drama, Shibatora. Jason then texted back saying that he never watched the SP because he couldn't find the subs. I told him that I had the subs. I was trying to get the hardsubbed one, but bitcomet was backfiring on me and refused to move, so I found the RAW of the Shibatora SP along with the softsubs. Then I worked on hardsubbing it myself since I couldn't get it earlier. I spent all night the day before, just hardsubbing that "special," with my own software. I'm an awesome friend, don't you think so Jason? The first thing we watched was my well worked on hardsubbed special which we watched on TV via the PS3. I need to show Marvin how to hardsub... "Thank you so much 'Querbeet' for the Shibatora SP and the softsubs, the hardsubbed video was unreliable so I took matters into my own hands for the sake of watching it with my friend, thank you again!"

After finishing Shibatora, we made a quick snack run to the gas station and continued our day by watching the rest of Love Exposure. Jason was very surprised by the randomness of the movie. Jason said it was so weird and there were so many hentai moments. But he did say the movie was "interesting." When we finished the first disc, I told him we should take a break, because Marvin still needs to watch the second disc too. We should save it for next time. Then we played Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Jason had told me that he played "Melee" at home, so I told him that the controls were exactly the same. We played for a few rounds and Jason was still trying to adjust. He wasn't getting so many KOs. After a while he started to get really good. We mostly played team battles because anyone playing against "me" alone... really has no chance of winning. By team battle I mean being put on the same team. It was fun, I don't get to play on teams that often, because everyone I play against always want to do a free-for-all. Yesterday was really fun. I ended up walking Jason to the blueline station and because of my horrible luck, it started pouring when we got to the station, which meant there was no chance of me walking back home. I then spent $3 on bus fare to get back home.

This morning, I went to a nearby town with Miki to get my new skates sharpened.
Ever since I got my new skates, I haven't sharpened them yet. The town, I don't know the name, but there's nothing out there. Chicago doesn't have a shop the specializes in blade sharpening. People in Chicago don't skate for a hobby, skating is a seasonal fun thing to do... therefore Chicagoans don't care much for skating. The man who sharpened my blade was really nice. I only paid $10 to get my blades sharpened.

When I got back home, I tried putting guards on the blades, but they kept slipping off! So I had to readjust the screws on the guards and re-tighten them. My new skates were completely different from my old skates. The blade on these is longer than my previous skates. I had to loosen the guards to get them to fit. The guards are spring loaded, making them super difficult to adjust. Now my new skates are in proper condition for skating lessons this Thursday!!!

I have a new drama I've been watching! Well, it's not a new drama, it's actually quite old. Thanks to Jason, I started watching "Shibatora." It's a "Teppei" drama.

It's another one of my cheesy detective dramas. You all know we love Teppei's little squeaky voice. This drama is pretty good. It has the humor and it has it's sappy moments too. Teppei just plays a cop who happens to be doing illegal undercover missions, so he needs to be super secretive even to the precinct he works for. If his cover is blown or the police department finds out, he's fired or ends up in jail. So far, he blows his cover nearly all the time, but it's a good thing the people he meets are faithful enough not to rat Teppei out. From what I've seen, he hasn't come close to getting fired. But overall, it's just fun to watch. THANK YOU FOR RECOMMENDING THIS DRAMA, JASON!!! I love this show!

Today, I communicated with Jason via text and we're hanging out tomorrow! Yay! This is going to be fun! We can finally finish up Love Exposure. Since Jason hasn't seen the Shibatora SP with subs, we can watch that too! Now... I need to figure out how to get a hold of Marvin, he hasn't been answering his cellphone... I have some random funny videos to show both of them.

I have so many things planned out, I get to chill with Jason tomorrow and the day after, I have skating lessons! At the rink out in Evanston, they need to evaluate my skill level before they place me into a class. Wish me luck!

Also, I had the sudden craving for 'Omurice?!" I completely blame "Lunch Queen" for this sudden urge for Omurice. That drama always had some significant meaning behind it. In the show, instead of topping it with ketchup, they had some super special fancy homemade sauce drizzled on top. It looked really yummy. I was really bored and made myself some Omurice, I was so hungry.

That was my horrible attempt to draw a face on it with ketchup.
It was really yummy though... my roommate tried to steal a bite. I need to figure out how to thin the egg without making it too thin or else the egg will tear. The actual omelet wasn't wide enough to fold and I browned it too much. I think I made the rice too mushy... But mushy rice is my preference because I hate rice.

Oh yeah, before I forget, tomorrow I will find out how much plane tickets to Japan are through my uncle's connections. But for now, I'm looking into "JTB's" rates. JTB sells for about $1100 during high season, we'll see what my uncle's source turns up with.
Until next time, bye again.

Today... quite early in the morning...
We headed off to Lincoln Park for the seasonal farmer's market. You know, the outdoor market where local growers, farmers and harvesters sell their products. All of the produce there is freshly picked and most of it is organic and homegrown. Nothing beats the freshness of a farmer's market.

I took a look around and I saw the most beautiful Stevia plants. They were very healthy and had big leaves. I bought it later because I didn't want to carry it around with me everywhere. I found a stall that only sold apples, ohhhh they had the sweetest.. crunchiest Honey Crisps EVER!!!! I bought half a dozen of them, they were so yummy! I walked around a little more and there was a place that sold rhubarb smoothies. I bought one thinking that it tasted like a rhubarb soda... To my surprise... it didn't taste like rhubarb soda. It was really tart, like... worse than a lemon, it was super sour. I kind of tasted like rose apples! For those unfamiliar with exotic fruit, rose apples are small pear shaped fruit with a peel as slick as a tomato and flesh like styrofoam. The info about the rose apple is here. After my super sour drink, There's another stall that sold crepes. They made them at the farmer's market. I ordered a herb and cheese crepe and it was delicious. It was so cheesy and gooey, so yummy! Miki and I sat under a nice shady tree and ate our crepe. Miki said it was good, but it'd be even better if we added snails! Soon after eating we started to head out, on the way out of the market I bought two Stevia plants... for my little sugar project.

We did pick up some groceries on the way back home at a local grocery store near our house. I just got myself some Coke and Iced Tea. Not long after we arrived home, we continued watching "Castle." That mystery series is just getting better and better! We took a little break after two episodes and "watched an episode of "CHUCK" too. Miki had to leave to the gym not too long after we watched CHUCK.

While Miki was gone, I watched my newly arrived "AAA 4th Anniversary Concert DVD" with my roommate. I've never seen the concert yet because I've patiently waiting for my disc to arrive. So, I saw this concert for the first time today!!! Yay for our "region-free" DVD player, we can watch DVDs from any country. I was able to watch the concert on our awesome flat screen!

While we were watching the concert, my roommate was wondering why I liked AAA so much. My roommate is fascinated by my love for foreign music. I replied, "There is no language barrier in music, music is universal and so is the expressive love for music... you should at least know that." My roommate shut up and watched with me. My roommate recognized "Nishijima" off the bat! My roommate shouted, "AH! That's the guy that crossdressed for that one show right?!" I showed my roommate "Otameshika" before. My roommate started to get hooked to the songs and kept saying how catchy the songs were. I was surprised that my roommate was enjoying the concert for someone who doesn't care much for AAA. I started hearing comments like, "They're so cool, I like how they dance, they sing well, they're good at singing live, a true band!" My roommate is starting to like Naoya? Something about Naoya appearing to be the most masculine...

Around halfway through the concert, AAA started to use hand-held microphones. My roommate told me something rather ridiculously stereotypical. A little disclaimer: This is not true(at least not to my knowledge). This is not a fact, but it's more of a silly theory. Don't take my word on it, because I don't believe this theory to be accurate. But rather a coincidental occurrence, which most cases were proven to be true. So here is what my roommate told me...
My roommate said that, a singer's sexuality can be determined by "how" they hold or position their "microphone." Being in and out of the music industry often makes people keen in the sense of psychological cold-reading. Specifically, my roommate said, "if the singer holds his microphone with his pinky straightened out or sticking outwards, it's an indication that the singer is gay." If you imagine yourself holding a microphone, normally all of your fingers will be curled in and completely wrapped around the microphone handle, right? But that could also be based off preference.

My roommate made an example of Naoya by saying, this is how normal people hold microphones.

Then what I noticed was Shuta!
Shuta is the only one who holds his microphone with his pinky out for the majority of all the songs! Shuta held his mic like that for 92% of the songs that required hand-held mics.My roommate kept pointing it out. I was getting a little annoyed, but Shuta wasn't the only one.

Nishijima actually holds his microphone like Shuta too!

Nishijima held the mic like that almost as much as Shuta did. Compared to Shuta's percentage, Nishijima had his pinky up for about 40% if the songs. However, Nishijima's pinky was up for about 95% of Deai no Chiikara. But strangely he was less frequent in the other songs.

Random observation led me to noticing someone I least expected...

Surprisingly, I totally didn't notice until my roommate pointed this out. Shinjiro has his fingers poised outwards for most of the concert too. Even more so frequent to that of Nishijima. Around maybe 55% for all of the songs. At this point, I figured my roommate's theory to be the as useless as an empty roll of tape. Shinjiro, as far as I know, does not swing that way. Shuta and Nishijima, sure, possible candidates, but Shinjiro is the last person I'd expect. What a dumb theory, but my roommate said it was proven true in many cases regarding the music industry. I'm still in disbelief. I personally think it's based off of comfort and preference of how a person held their mic. My roommate believes otherwise.

Because I enjoy arguing with the roommate I so despise, I made another point by saying how the extended pinky is a well mannered gesture in the United Kingdom for drinking tea. When holding a teacup, it is proper to hold the teacup handle with your pinky extended out. I don't know why, but that's how they do things. It was a bit irrelevant, but I wanted to make another point as well to bring up more possibilities other than that silly theory. The microphone deal might be for comfort reasons. That would be my opinion.

In conclusion, according to my roommate... "Shuta is undeniably gay!!!!"
The theory is nice for thought but it isn't a solid claim and it lacks justification. I won't let it get to me, I told my roommate to not believe any stereotypes they hear.

We also watched an episode of Tumbling after the concert. Now my roommate is hooked on Tumbling. My roommate asked in such a sad voice, "Why is Nishijima so mean in this drama?! He seemed so nice on stage." My roommate is badgering me to watch the next episode of Tumbling, which I haven't gotten yet. You'll just have to wait silly roommate!!!

Until next time, bye again.

I woke up sweating today.
It was really hot this morning. Last time I checked the weather, it was going to be in the 80s all week. The current heatwave is very strange because I can usually handle a hot day, but for this weather, I haven't been able to breathe easily. It's very strange because it's still technically spring, but it feels like summer.

After waking up and hating how hot it is today, I got onto my laptop and watched episode 8 of "Meitantei no Okite," but that was the most recent episode subbed. It's been a whole year and they've only subbed 8 out of 10 episodes. Then I watched a few episodes of "Castle" with Miki. I just enjoy my mysteries.

After finishing up Castle, our aunt stopped by and she was hungry. So we all went out to eat. We went to Cho Sun Ok today, one of my favorite places!

YAY! TABLETOP BARBECUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is Miki preparing the stone plate by flavoring it with garlic!
You know you miss this Arata!!!

MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT MEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE GRILLING MY OWN MEAT ON THE TABLE!!!!!
Look at the delicious red slices of beef sizzling on that stone plate! It was so yummy!!!! The beef just melts in your mouth, it was so juicy. That beef was so delicious! You can probably imagine Miki and I having epic chopstick fights over the cooking meat. I just love tabletop barbecue, besides the fighting. The biggest fight Miki and I have isn't mainly over the meat. After we eat all of the meat, there is a yummy fried rice that is cooked on the same stone plate. If you wait a while and don't stir the rice, it'll create a thin layer of burnt rice. This thin layer of burnt rice is located at the bottom of the stone plate. To most Asians, the burnt rice is the best part of cooking rice, because it has this smokey indescribable crunch. The rice is golden brown and it becomes crunchy and partially stale. It's really tough to get because it sticks to the stone plate as it burns. So you need to scrape this thing to death to obtain those crunchy rarities called burnt rice. Me and Miki smack each other with spoons as we're scraping the plate for the burnt rice. She always ends up stealing most of my burnt rice...

I ordered some yummy salted mackerel too. My mom can make this too, but I like the one in the restaurant better! There's something about this that makes it super delicious. The salt ratio is just perfect!!!!!! It's a perfect balance of saltiness and bland oiliness. As to the mackerel my mom makes, her's turns out a little bitter, like a charred taste. But the one at Cho Sun Ok is just...... PERFECT!!! It's even better that the bones were removed from this one. It was super delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!

Later today I followed Miki on a little trip downtown.
I WAS WATCHING GIRLS POLE DANCE, I even took pictures:

GUESS WHERE I WENT?!
AHAHAHAHA!!!! Get your mind out of the gutter!!!
I went to Miki's gym, Every few days or so, Miki has classes at "Flirty Girl Fitness." The location of this gym is quite shady, the gym's building is actually a warehouse. The surrounding buildings are like that too, they're all warehouses. This gym is of course only for girls, therefore the entire place is prissy pink and loaded with girl power. I don't like super girly things so I was like "ewww" when I walked in.

The first thing you see when you walk in, it's the front desk. You pay for merchandise, membership, and lessons here. All of these classes are split up into different rooms down this creepy narrow hallway.

LOOK AT THE PINK CHANDELIERS!!!!!!!!!!
This place is just way too overdecorated!!!

Did I fail to mention that this place has a friggin spa too!!!!

Not only can you workout and sweat like a pig here, but you can also get massages and a pedicure too. I think they paint nails too! After making yourself look pretty from all of that sweating, you can go get drunk at their actual alcohol bar!!!!!!! Almost all gyms have "juice bars." This gym has an alcohol bar!!!!!!!!! I'm not a member at this gym so I didn't take any classes. I just sat down and waited for Miki to finish her class. I was listening to my i-pod and doodling a little bit. Miki finished and we went back home together.

Not too long after I got home, my mom arrived home too. I started writing this journal and my mom kept bothering me. For someone who supposedly supports you, my mom was being very mean to me. It's really annoying when she calls me a slob for being on the computer too much. The thing is... I only get on the computer for about an hour to check e-mails and write my journal for the day, I hardly see that as "too much." Other than that, my mom kept calling me disgusting, worthless, ugly and she she kept telling me I should die. Isn't that something mothers aren't supposed to do to their kids? When people get verbally abused like that, they become a little screwed up. Parents are meant to guide us and make us into better adults... aren't they??? People wonder how I put up with this and why I'm not suicidal. Well.... as ill-tempered as I am, I'm patient with other people. I suppress everything. I cry silently on the inside... It's really difficult for me to pretend like none of it ever happened. But I manage. I compensate by being very open with people I trust. And that's how I get rid of my bottled up insanity...

That grilled meat was sooooooooo yummy!!!!
Until next time, bye again.

I've been waiting many months for the "Liar Game Movie" to be released and subbed by a subbing team. It's still not out, but I'm looking forward to the release. I really want to know how it all ends. Matsuda Shota plays a swindler, Akiyama-kun. He helps this defenseless girl who gets pulled into this con-artist tournament called the Liar Game, where competitors must cheat and lie to steal money from opponents. Losers get smacked with a huge debt and winners win a ticket to ultimate riches. The girl has never told a lie in her entire life, she's too innocent and dimwitted to actually play the game, so she has Akiyama help her. But the movie shows how independent she's become and she apparently hates Akiyama because they've been put into different teams. I still don't know the details but I'll figure it out when the movie is released.

I love Matsuda Shota!!!

As for "Meitantei no Okite," I haven't actually finished the series, I'm like halfway through. It's because most of the series wasn't subbed around that time back then when I was watching consecutively. The series has probably been completely subbed already. I really want to watch!!! The reason why I'm saying Matsuda Shota is worth it is because I have severe motion sickness and I'm typing this in the car... I FEEL SUPER SICK AND LIKE I'M GOING TO PUKE. All because I'm typing in the car!!! The pain and dizziness is totally worth it for Matsuda Shota. But Matsuda Shota is hot and I really wanted to write about him before I got to the house because Miki wanted to watch something instead of waiting for me to write my journal. So I'm typing as mush as I can before I reach my limit and pass out from being in so much pain! It hurts me so much to type in the car... But I think I'll finish up the rest of Meitantei no Okite this week.

I remember Arata talking about him once. She seen him before and she said, even though the guy looks small on camera, he's actually pretty big. The guy is disproportionate, big body, small head. As claimed by Arata.

I'm super excited!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to Japan soon... I'll finally be able to see Arata-senpai again, I'm so happy! When I'm in Japan, maybe I can get some Matsuda Shota dramas! I need to keep this journal short or Miki is going to flip. She wants me upstairs so we can watch a show together.

Until next time, bye again!

I don't really like it when it rains.
It's very gloomy and sad... even though it was just light rain.
We're in the middle of spring, so of course there'd be a lot of rain. But today was really dark and cloudy. Whenever it rains, I always tend to feel sleepy, tired, and not in the mood to do anything. I really didn't feel like working at all today. But I had to work because I needed to save up some money to go to Japan in order to visit Arata.

The restaurant was just as dull as ever. There weren't as many customers, the weather was terrible, and apparently there was a Blackhawks game. There was absolutely no sunshine today! It was dark and gloomy all day. That must have been why no one showed up to the restaurant today. I was so bored today!!!

I just played on the computer for most of the day. I was looking up more updates for the "Nodame Cantabile" Movie, because I remember Arata mentioned it once. That was the greatest drama EVER!!! I was surprised to hear that asides from the Paris Special, there's going to be two movies! The first movie has been out for a while, but no one has subbed it yet. SARS fansubs plans to finish subbing it when the dvd(it was in theaters) is released. They also mentioned that they will also be subbing the "Liar Game" Movie too. I can't wait!!! Both movies are among the list of "most anticipated movies of 2010." I remember hearing someone's podcast and they were talking about "must watch" dramas. They were mostly talking about good dramas and making recommendations. At one point one of the podcast hosts began to describe "Liar Game," and then they said "Everyone needs to watch 'Liar Game,' it's the new 'Kurosagi'!" By the looks of it(around the time when Kurosagi and Liar Game came out) "swindler dramas" were becoming super popular. I love how much of a badass "Matsuda Shota" is in Liar Game. He had a similar attitude in "Hana Yori Dango" too.

But my favorite all time role of his would have to be in "Meitantei no Okite." That entire show is basically a parody off of every classic mystery cliche. The title does translate to "The Conditions of Great Detectives." It's a weird parody drama, the main characters actually narrate most of what will happen next, they have their little time pausing moments where they talk closely to the camera because they are aware that there's an audience watching. Matsuda Shota just plays this know-it-all detective who pretty much already knows the ending of the episode. He's very clumsy and very funny. During his cases, he doesn't take anything seriously and he just looks like someone you wouldn't want to hire for any kind if investigation. It's funny because the detective is aware of his role and he even has names for the different murder types, some of them being made up. For example there was a murder in a mansion in a later episode and the detective was arguing with the chief officer. The officer asks, "isn't this just another closed door murder???" The detective responds, "no no no no no!!! We covered a closed door murder in the first episode already... this is... a.. uh... 'Who done it murder?' Yeah that's right! We don't want to bore the viewers now do we?" That is the only time I've ever seen Matsuda Shota in a comical role. Most random quote from the show...
Detective: "I want the shiny bike light so bad..." *whimpers*

Now that I'm on the topic of mystery dramas...
I heard from Jason that there was this really cool detective drama starring Teppei?! I need to go find this drama! It sounds like it's on the same level as Meitantei no Okite, so I'll probably like it too. I must look for this drama!!!

Anyways...
I was looking at how to make costumes also, because I want to make an outfit for next year's con. I think I'll just get it custom made because my mom gave me the evil look when I said sewing and home in the same sentence... I want to make the costume though. Oh well, it'll be a surprise when I'm done. Jason said he'd follow me around the con if I cosplayed, which would help me out a lot since I would probably have limited visibility.

Okay, I should go to sleep.
Until next time, bye again.
