Work was tiring today too, so I think I'm going to go straight to sleep after this.

Yeah... I've been ordering a lot of stuff lately.
Only a few days ago, I received my new AAA cds and the Naoya cards that won't seem to leave me alone... The day before that I got a KH: Birth by Sleep Keyblade necklace in the mail. And you know what? I'm expecting another package next month filled with AAA concert merch and goodies. In two weeks I'm expecting a package from Korea, I ordered another Zoid, the one I've always wanted (my dream Zoid), the Soul Tiger. I've also got one more package from an anime shop, which includes a "Soul Eater" plushie and a wallet with the characters on it.

Ha ha... I actually got a package today too!
My Chibi Gundams came in today!!!

I can't wait to build them tomorrow morning before I go to work!
And of course I'll put up pictures.

Good night!

Mistaken?

What a rough day at work today.

This happened more than once today...
There was a customer sitting behind me, he's one of those rude customers who enjoy causing problems. He kept yelling at the manager. Anyways, he was curious about what I was doing. I was sitting at the employee table minding my own business (I was working on the Shinjiro homage). The man asked me and I told him I was drawing. I then told him that I was taking a little break from being cashier. He got a little angry and said, "hey... shouldn't you be working? You'll get in trouble young man." I'm thinking, "WTF?! Young man?!?!?!?!" HE DID NOT JUST MISTAKE ME FOR A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't really say anything in response due to shock.

The manager came over because she thought I started a fight with a customer(I actually would've if the manager hadn't shown up). The man started talking to the manager, he began asking, "has this boy been giving you any trouble? He sounds like a slacker. Has he been good to you? This boy works hard right?" I'm sure the manager caught this too, because she started stressing the pronouns by saying, "SHE is a good cashier, SHE'S the best employee in the restaurant." However, when the manager say's it.... "she" sounds an awful lot like "he." The customer kept referring to me as a boy! He walked out of the restaurant with the understanding that I was a boy...

I have never felt so offended in my life.
This is something to be offended about, right?
Do I really look like a boy?!
I know my voice is really low because I hate using my high pitch voice. It probably doesn't help that I wear boy's clothes because that's the only thing my mom buys me. Why do people mistake me for a boy?! WHY?!

Worst day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm currently working on the next comic for Attack All Attackers.

OHHHH!
This morning, I finally got my new AAA cds in the mail. As for the collectible cards. I GOT NAOYA AGAIN?! I swear, I keep getting Chiaki and Naoya cards, it's driving me insane. I have all of the cards(from different singles), but the ONLY card I don't have is Shinjiro's card. I have all of them except his!!! What luck! I just keep getting piles of Chiaki and Naoya cards with every new cd I buy. It's like there's a surplus of Naoya cards or something.

I didn't have class today. I still had to go, but all I had to do was print out my test results in the computer lab. I then ran into one of my friends in the cafeteria, since I had nowhere to chill after finishing. She had to leave, so I hung out with her friends who were staying late. One them draws mini comics like me. I was working on something for the web-comic and he saw me drawing. He asked me about it. Actually, I didn't disclose any information about it. His work is pretty interesting. But his stuff is all about ninjas, assassins, and demonic powers! So violent. He draws things on a smaller scale with such fine detail. He's one of those "one-shot" artists. Meaning, he goes straight into inking without really planning ahead in pencil first. It's an amazing talent, but it's poor technique. His stuff is really good too. If only I had my sight back, I would be able to draw like that again.

That reminds me, I've been working on a lot of tributes.
There's Nishijima's tribute coming up next week....
Then... there's Shinjiro's special homage in early October!

For one...
I was expecting to get some shocked e-mail responses today.
I sent some random e-mails to a few friends, they we're more like surprises... I just hope I didn't scare everyone. People tend to freak out from my sudden e-mails.

One of the e-mails I wrote said:
"Yo! I'll be stopping by your place in 2 years! Get ready to get on the plane. When are you coming to Chicago? The Sears Tower got changed to the Willis Tower."

My e-mails never make sense!

Next thing I wasn't expecting...
Hey! Did anyone else know about this?!
Apparently, news got out in January.
Shinrei Tantei Yakumo is going to be released as an anime this fall!!!

Hey....... Doesn't this picture kind of look like the ad for "Hidarime Tantei EYE?"
Hmmmmm.... I wonder where they got that idea from?

Source: moetron.com
This looks really cool. I'm loving the art style. The drawing style for the concept art looks like a combination between "Liar Game"  and "Kuroshitsuji." (don't ask) The art concept for the anime (although different from the manga) has a rustic and dark aura to it. I'm actually a fan of this type of art style. Dark and mysterious.

So, Shinrei Tantei Yakumo...

The drama: haven't seen very much of
The manga: hasn't been translated beyond volume 2

I'm looking forward to whichever fansub team gets it online first. I'm so excited, it gives me something else to watch besides "Kuroshitsuji II" and "Hetalia: World Series."

Edit: I just saw the anime trailer for Shinrei Tantei Yakumo...
IT IS HARDCORE AND TWISTED!!!
Me like

Hahaha! I'm free.
Since I'm done with the one a day comics for now, I get to sit back and relax a little. I can take my time for the next upcoming one. Attack All Attackers is going to be so quiet the entire week without me.

This morning, I woke up a little early and I baked a pizza...
I dunno, I was in the mood for pizza?

I played on the computer for a bit and then went to go work on a Gundam model I had bought in Japan. After I only built the feet, I was dragged off to a Laosian temple. I don't speak Laosian, although most of our language was rooted from it. I had to pin money on the "money tree" for donation. It's a tradition to place money on fake trees to make it look like leaves.

The lady is putting more money on the tree. While on the right, that's just a close-up.

I got to work and worked.
There were a lot of customers today.
I just love it when customers write stuff of the receipts they give back.

This made me smile:

I KNOW I'M AWESOME!
It's from a few days ago, but I didn't have time to put it up.

But you know what isn't awesome?!
My strange fear of centipedes!!!!! No seriously, I hate centipedes!!! They coil and they crawl with all those freaky legs!!! I think I'm CURSED with bad luck today. In the middle of the day, after I got off the phone with a customer, I noticed something moving on the ground. I looked again..... and I saw a long thing with tons of legs... I started freaking out in front of all the customers. I'm not the kind to scream, screaming is rude and disruptive in a restaurant setting. Instead, I took a pen and used the blunt end to pin the centipede's hind legs so it couldn't go anywhere, I didn't want to kill it.

I had a combination of bursting into tears and laughing hysterically from being in shock and fear of being so close to the centipede, seeing as I'm still pinning it down with the pen. I started yelling for help from the employees. Instead... everyone ignored me and continued their own business. (you guys suck!) Then a nearby customer asked me what was wrong. I told him to go sit down because I need an employee (who is ignoring me) to help me. He then noticed the centipede I was pinning down. He then suggested that I lift the pen and he'll squash it. I immediately screamed, "NOOOOoooooooooo!!!" I told him I didn't want to kill it. So... he picked it up with his bare hand and tossed the centipede out the door... Problem solved... I wasn't expecting the customer to be that brave, did you know that most centipedes are poisonous?

The rest of my day...
I had some deliveries, the Olsons gave me a good amount for tip as they usually do. Today, Alex stopped by, the bartender from O'Briens(the bar next to us). He always orders something to take back to the bar. I always give him a big discount(cuz he sends his customers over to us every once and a while). Yay! Alex gave me a 3 dollar tip today! While I was talking to him, he told me that business has been pretty slow at the bar. But Tusk seemed to be packed and busy, unlike his place. I was thinking in my mind, "there will always be a higher demand for booze than Thai food." It was strange because that bar is always packed.

Now I'm in Chicago.
Bedtime!
I'll start working on the next Attack All Attackers comic soon.

epik_noodles: (Default)
This was yesterday, but I didn't have time because I worked on the Attack All Attacker's update all night. I was so worn out that I didn't post on my own journal.

We had a little fair at my college. Since I attend Wilbur Wright College, the fair was called Wilburpalooza!
It was on campus. They usually rent a ton of games and some inflatable bouncy things. Can you imagine college students playing in a bouncy castle? Yeah... I admit I bounced around for a few minutes. There were a lot of students there. They had free pizza too. We have this fair every year. There was Dance Dance Revolution, I only played for a few rounds because I have no stamina for it anymore. I was really annoyed from the metal dance pad sliding out of place. It was a heavy slab of metal, it shouldn't move! Marvin arrived right after I finished two songs. He wanted to play too, so I warned him about the moving pad. We played one round together and Marvin was getting pissed off at the pad like I was. Marvin's a hardcore dancer, so... lots of movement, he had to stop and adjust the pad frequently.

I recorded Marvin and Christina playing DDR.
Check out Marvin's sick moves!
Unfortunately, Marvin is getting a little rusty. He hasn't really played since high school.

I had to leave after recording.
I got back home and I'm greeted by a package.
I can't believe it! Arata's package arrived! Arata had shipped me my Black Rock Shooter figures.

The chibi is sooooooooooo cute!!! I love my new toys, thank you senpai!!!!!!!!!!

Arata is so nice, she even sent us some souvenirs she picked up in Okinawa!
Check this out! The famous Okinawa Star Sand!

See the white pointy pieces? Zoom in if you need to. That's the star sand. It can only be found in Okinawa, no where else in the world. Funny thing is, it really isn't sand. Those pieces are actually prehistoric micro-organisms from the sea that have died and their exoskeletons are left behind. They're like baby starfish!

There were snacks in that box too. But I'll wait until Miki returns from Taiwan.

Apparently, the MRI technician at the hospital my aunt works at, he breeds Siamese Fighting Fish. He raises them for their beauty. He has many varieties and different crossbreeds. He gave my aunt a really pretty baby Siamese Fighting Fish he had imported from Thailand.

Now I'm responsible for raising this new baby fish too.

IT'S FINS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!!! My new fishy!!!
For future reference, my old Fighting fish is still alive, now I need to raise two.
The guy gave us this one for free, he said "this is the most beautiful breed, it's still a baby now, but if you take care of it, it'll grow really big and be even more beautiful." He's giving us another one next week too.

This just means I need to clean multiple tanks! (Fighting Fishes must be kept in different tanks or else they'll beat each other to death)

I wanted to draw all day, you know I really do.
I got stuck going to the dentist this morning.
After being tortured by the Novocaine syringe and getting cavities filled, we went off into the suburbs...

I wanted to stop by Mitsuwa, just because I was super hungry!
Well... I like hanging around the bookstore. I went to the usual ramen place I liked as a child located in the food court. I got my usual shio-ramen and I got an additional side dish of "natto."

It was my first time eating natto... Seriously the texture and smell are super intimidating!!! I HAD NATTO FOR THE FIRST TIME! It's a real taste bud shocker, it is! It's hard to get pass the fermented stink and the slimy gooeyness, let alone the putrid bitterness. It's not bad, it doesn't hurt to try new things. What do Japanese people see in this. To me, I was only able to get it down by holding my breath. To be honest, it was gross. But believe it or not, I finished the whole bowl.

Hehehe... I so gotta e-mail Miki about my natto experience. She's been traumatized out of eating fermented soy based items because of natto.

After Mitsuwa was school.
After school, I went to a friend's restaurant to get some dinner for home. Then while I sat and ate, I watched Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Yeah... I was watching for quite a bit. I was watching it and nearly forgot to finish up today's drawing.

But I still got the drawing up.

I finally have the patience and tolerance for this.
I've started my own comm, but I currently don't have any content to fill it up with.
Since I've never been good with setting stuff up, I was just going to have Maciek help me out a bit.

Here's what I wrote in the profile:

"I was cleaning up the piles of paper and junk in my room, when I uncovered all of my old comic strips and panels I used when I still worked in illustration. It was all of my original ideas in storyboard form. I though, "Hey, why not? I could still use these." I've always wanted to have my own fan art/web-comic page. I've always been thinking about it, but haven't had the chance to plan it out. I was first inspired by another web-comic called "Dub This!" it was run by an acquaintance of mine. But that web-comic is no longer running. I want to give this try."

It's a dream come true... But now I'm afraid.
More like nervous. Speech class should take care of that... I'm going off topic...

Right now, I'm working on the "character profiles" and "bio pictures."
I still need to figure out how to draw everyone.
ANYONE HAVE A RECENT PICTURE OF SHUTA???
Because I have no idea what he looks like right now. I'm working very hard, but I'm taking a short break, because I need to clear my mind for Psychology class tomorrow.

Please don't look at my unfinished comm, it's embarrassing.

Miki got me a really nice Venus Fly Trap for my birthday and I really love it. It's beautiful yet freaky at the same time. It looks very prehistoric. There's something about carnivorous plants that make them really cool.
This is the one sitting in the kitchen.

I just think Venus Fly Traps are awesome! They hunt their own food and their complex jaw snapping system makes them even more amazing! It's as if they're alive.

I even drew a picture of me and my wonderful plant, because I love it so much!

Anyways, yesterday wasn't a very fun day at work. I was busy because I was on a lot of deliveries. There were a lot of dine-in customers too, but I had one crazy food delivery adventure I won't be forgetting about in a long while.

So okay, there's one house on a usual street which we deliver to once every other week or so. It's a really nice family. They stop by to eat too, but they mostly get take-out or delivery. They ordered food yesterday and I went on the delivery route. The house I was delivering to has a big guard dog. The dog is on an invisible fence. You know, the dog has a sensor collar that prevents it from crossing over a digital preset perimeter barrier. After I got out of the car, the dog in the yard sees me and starts growling and barking ferociously. I walk closer to the house and the dog paces back and forth at the border of the invisible barrier. When I was several yards away, the dog started to shake his head really fast. As the dog shook his head... the invis. fence collar slides off the dog's neck and plops onto the ground... My reaction was: "OH SNAP..." The dog began to growl and walk towards me... Then the dog began to chase me all over the yard. He was snapping his jaws at me and didn't want me to escape. I had to run all over the yard, hoping not to get attacked/mauled while still carrying the delivery food. I could not wear this dog down, it would not give up. The owners could probably hear me screaming, "NO, NO, NO, NICE DOGGY, GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  I made it to the doorstep. Eventually, the dog jumped on me when I rang the doorbell.

I delivered the food and told the owner that the dog was currently biting my pants and the collar had fallen off in the driveway. How strange that the dog's collar fell off when I was there.

My back and arms are hurting a bit, I'll figure out what else to write tomorrow.

Yup, today's my birthday! I just turned 21!
Wohoo... drinking age... blah blah blah... Everyone knows I don't care much for it. Never liked the smell and taste, never will. There's something about moldy liquid bread and spoiled rotten vinegar that doesn't appeal to me.

I had a party with my friends yesterday too. Everyone actually came. We all got together and went to go eat at Shiroi Hana, one of my favorite Japanese places. I mainly like it for the fried shrimp heads, oh I love it so much... My horrible luck, they didn't have any shrimp heads yesterday. Jason, Marvin, Maciek, Ex and I really enjoyed the lunch.

After lunch, we all went back to my house to chill. I opened presents when we got back. I opened Jason's gift first. He got me a cute bowl with a little ceramic doggie clinging onto it. Next I opened Ex's gift, he gave me a temp tattoo and $30. Then I opened Maciek's gift. This was awesome... Maciek got me the platinum edition complete dvd box set of Neon Genesis: Evangelion. It was a collector's edition tin box with the complete series. THANKS A LOT MACIEK, NOW I'M GONNA DO AN ANIME MARATHON!!! Then of course, I saved the best for last, I opened Miki's presents. Miki got me a kitty coin bank, which was super cute, it was a box, you put a coin on a sensor plate and the cat will pop out of the box and snatch away the coin with it's paw. The other gift was Mario Party 8 for Wii. The final gift from Miki was a beautiful venus fly trap, it had beautiful red traps. My friends were so fascinated by the plant, because most people have never seen one up close. Miki wanted me to name it... I was thinking of naming it "Buzz-kill," but naming it "Seymour" (ref: Little Shop of Horrors) was on my mind too.

You know what we did all day besides eat cake?
We played 15 rounds of Mario Party and we played Super Smash Bros. Brawl non-stop. With my friends, once we get started on Brawl... we don't stop. It's an endless massacre! I got second place first round and I won first place the second round.

Today we celebrated my birthday at the restaurant too. Mostly employees showed up. It was fun and there was good food.

Noooooooooooooooo....
I'm getting old......

epik_noodles: (Default)
I woke up to the sound of food today....
Is it strange that while nothing else appears to wake me up, the smell or sound of food makes me wake up immediately? I heard the sound of Miki rustling through a box of crackers this morning. That's what woke me up.

This morning, I heard my dad talking about driving (golf related), so I asked if I could go practice too. I'm quite rusty and out of practice. I haven't practiced ever since I got out of that golf academy my dad forced me to go to. That was 10 years ago! When he said he was going to practice, it reminded me of the 10 years I wasted leaving my golf clubs to collect dust. I went out to the garage and dug through all the junk until I found my clubs. I hopped into the car and we went off to the driving range in Skokie. On my first swing I tried using a 3driver, my asked, "why so big, don't you want to start smaller?" I told my dad that I've always used the irons and wedges, but never the driver. My first swing was excellent! But the swings that followed after were beyond horrible. I kept throwing my balance off, I missed the ball a few times, I smacked the wall, I hit the ball into the ceiling, or I hit the ball but it only goes 1 yard. I'm really bad now. I keep moving out of alignment, resulting in mishitting the ball. Plus, I can't even hit more than 100 yards like how I did back then. I was once able to hit the ball 150 yards with a 9iron. I can't even hit up to 100!!!! I'm getting worse!!!! All my power is gone, my technique is worse. There was this old Korean man who kept staring at me and would occasionally laugh at me. I'm so bad at this now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After I got back, I went to the DMV to renew my permit. I got a full score on the written test... as usual. I got it done pretty quickly. I got home soon afterwards. I then went off to school right away. Today I had psychology class, it sucked! I was the only person who showed up without a textbook. I got to class and everyone had a textbook in front of them. Everyone read ahead too, I didn't have a book. When the professor asked questions, I was unprepared, I've never felt dumber.

After class, my uncle picked me up and bought me a birthday cake. My party in tomorrow, Friday. We'll see how it goes.

Miki quote of the day:
"Ghost poop..."
epik_noodles: (Default)
I thought I should write this now since I have some time.
So anyways, Miki got back from Vegas last week. I'm so happy!!! She got first place! Overall, she said it was fun. As long as there were good memories from the competition, I know they'll last. A victory is a victory, but we didn't get to celebrate. Everyone's been busy, even me. But, Miki did bring back a gift for me.

Check out what Miki bought me:

Isn't it awesome!? It's a scorpion lollipop!!!
I haven't even seen these before! It looks good. Miki actually bought me something that suits my unique sense of taste. And yeah... that's a real scorpion in there. It's banana flavored, I can't wait to eat it, yet I don't want to eat it because it's too beautiful and I really want to keep it as a novelty. But Miki says I should just eat it because we'll come across more wacky things from different places we'll visit in the future.

So... while Miki was basking in the glory of her triumphant victory in Vegas, a rare opportunity presented itself. Miki was offered a scholarship to study abroad in Taiwan!!! Of course this scholarship is for her to sharpen her cooking skills, a culinary arts scholarship... We were talking about it for a bit today, Miki has been thinking really hard about it. She's still unsure if she should stay or go. We talked about it.

Me:NOOOOOO DON'T GO!!!!!! I CAN'T BE SEPARATED FROM MY SISTER, I CAN'T SURVIVE!!!!

Miki: what do you mean? mom's not going to starve you.

Me: I'M GOING TO MISS YOU!!!! I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO!!!

Miki: it's only for a short while.

Me: now that I think about it... Taiwan...

Miki: uh-huh...

Me: since you're going to Taiwan, you could totally stalk Wu Chun!

This is what followed...
And that's where I got today's Miki's quote of the day:
"OHHH... I'M SO GOING TO TAIWAN NOW!!!! Aww... how thoughtful, you're thinking about your future brother-in-law."

Miki loves Wu Chun...

Oh yes! In addition to that...
MY BIRTHDAY IS THIS SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
My party is going to be on Friday. I'm so excited. I've missed my birthday for the past few years. My birthdays have been really sad for me too. I always try to invite my friends months in advance. But.... they always flake out the day of my party. In the end... either two people show up or no one shows up at all. I begun to hate my birthday after a while. Why bother if people don't show up? Why bother if no one cares? My family (except Miki) ignores my birthday. No one does anything special for me. I don't get a "happy birthday" and I don't even get a cake. According to tradition, because my birthday is so close to a bad day, we aren't supposed to celebrate it. But instead, it's just made me miserable.

This time, I'm actually going to have a party on Friday. My friends have confirmed their availability. Attending will be: Maciek, Marvin, Jason, and Ex. Yay, my birthday is so close!!!!!!!!!

Running back and forth between Chicago and Batavia this week.
I got dragged back to Chicago yesterdays, just to be abandoned.

I actually don't have time to write. The house is empty because everyone went to Oregon for a wedding. I need to take care of the house and restaurant this week.

Miki came up with this interesting idea of adding "Miki quotes" into my journal entries. A new one each day, because the things she says are just epic! Or sometimes they don't make sense...

Miki quote of the day:
"I hear silence..."

epik_noodles: (Default)
After all of my enthusiastic cheering...
MIKI WON FIRST PLACE IN LAS VEGAS!!!!!!
This is great news! Miki has dominated that cooking tournament. Miki makes the most delicious food in the whole wide world, of course I knew she couldn't lose! Texas can have their beef carving champion, because that's not Miki's style (as a matter of fact, she didn't even place). But when it comes to real food, Miki is a amazing chef. This grand Vegas competition is a piece of cake. Miki is invincible!!!

By the way, I got super bored at work today, so I created a Gaia Online account. My friends are probably laughing and thinking, "whoa, didn't Tess say something about never creating a Gaia account?" Yeah... everyone is most likely mocking me right now. I'm using Gaia until I properly install Ragnarok Deliverance on my new laptop (I've forgotten ever since I got the laptop last year).

Anyways... I finished watching Zoids Genesis a while ago. The ending was way too simple. You don't even know what happens to the rest of the characters after the final battle ends.  The main character is the only one who speaks and he says, "let's go back home to Miroodo." Then it immediately goes into a montage of Ruuji (the main character) piloting back home. I guess it's suggested that everyone went back to rebuild their destroyed homes. Well... with the exception of the Sora people, their home came crashing down from the sky in a fiery mass of destruction.

I started watching the New Century Zero season of Zoids. It was the first Zoids series I ever saw. It was also what sparked my interest in Zoids. This was like way back in 2001. I remembered watching it after getting out of school. I watched Zoids and Digimon afterschool, I remember! Those were the best animes ever... during that time.

Right now I'm in Batavia... Lake in the Hills. Miki is returning tonight. We are definitely celebrating her victory tomorrow... or at least I would like to.
epik_noodles: (Default)
I woke up late today after having a horrible nightmare of my doll being possessed by an evil spirit and massacring all of Miki's dolls. The plastic carnage, you have no idea, I was really freaked out. I would be really scared if my doll ever came to life. I just hope that nightmare does not reoccur.

I woke up and went to the Argyle Asian Town District with Miki. We did some grocery shopping. On the way home, I picked up an ever so lethal "durian."

Familiar with it? Besides the intimidating spikes... It's the most foul smelling fruit in the world. A nose burning combination of rotten fish and moldy socks. Many have tried to overcome the smell and failed. It's something that isn't for everyone. The most infamous fruit of Asia... the durian. If you can get pass the stink, the fruit's flesh has a rich custard-like taste. "Andrew Zimmermn," a traveling food critic/bizarre food eater, described the taste of durian as a mushy rotten onion, then he spat it out quickly. Out of the countless crazy things he's eaten, durian was the only thing that beat him. In our home village, the durian is a real treat because we can't buy it that often.

At lunch, we ate at a Swedish restaurant near home. I ate a Reuben, that didn't seem so Swedish... But I just love corned beef and sauerkraut. Many of my friends have wondered why I have a sense for Polish food.

We then moved the flat screen TV into Miki's room. I've been meaning to move it for a long while but I kept forgetting. So it's always remained in our parents' room. I hooked up the PS3 and we watched a few things. After all of that, We started working on a Taiwanese dumpling soup. It was very good. The dumplings were meatballs wrapped in rice dough. I seasoned and skimmed the stocked while it simmered. I did a lot of chopping too, since finely chopping food is something I'm good at. Who needs a food processor when they got me?

I helped with the soup, then I took a short break. During my break, my uncle came to bother me. He wanted me to revise a brochure for a temple. I read through it... Not to sound mean, but the grammar and syntax was off. It said something like. "What is Meditation benefit for me? What is Meditation benefit for social?" My uncle said, "come on, it's like charity, help me out." I quickly pulled up Microsoft Word and started rewriting some contents of the brochure. I printed it and gave the revision to my uncle who rushed over to whichever temple he got it from and they made new prints.

I ate the soup... it was good.
My mom also returned home, that's why I'm taking refuge in Miki's room.

And....
IT'S BACK!!!
The "Shuji hair" is back!!!

My hair has gotten long enough to poke my eyes again. So... the Shuji is back. And yes... we were playing Tekken. Miki likes to use Jin, I remembered, in Tekken Tag, which was really old, Miki knew the combo for Jin's ultimate move. It was so cheap, it completely took out the opponent's life bar. The fight wouldn't last for two seconds. The one we're playing in the picture is Tekken 6.

I did build part of a Zoid today. It was like a master grade version for Zoids because it had hundreds of parts. Today I only built the head. That portion alone had 32 pieces to it (an average Zoid head contains no more than 10 pieces). The "Great Saber" is a really detailed model, totally NOT something to laugh at.

epik_noodles: (Default)
After I woke up this morning... I started watching Zoids Genesis.
I went through three episodes and then went down for... lunch? I ate the remainders of that Kobe burger. I had some blueberry toast too. I finished and went back upstairs to watch more Zoids. I watch five more episodes before I left for work.

We drove off to work and there were already customers waiting outside because we were a little late. I walked in and prepared the AC. The customers were then seated. After a while of observation, I walked out and across the bridge to check out the Batavian Art Fair. Like I said, Batavia is a town filled with artists. There was this old couple that ate at our place yesterday, the eat here often. They're kinda famous around Batavia. Last year, that old man and his wife took first place with their amazing artpieces. The old man makes miniature scale paintings. Like 2 x 1 inch paintings. For something of that scale, the painting was so detailed and breathtaking. It was so beautiful. I admire the old man's work, it's hard to believe that such beautiful work can be done in such a small space. He even invited us to view his newer works at the fair too. When I arrived at the fair it was already clean up time. I just missed him. I walked back to the restaurant and continued watching more Zoids.

It's sad isn't it? I spend my work hours watching anime.
I watched nine episodes at the restaurant today. I then took a break and ate "basil noodles," not my favorite dish, but I was hungry. I was in more of a panang mood, but they wouldn't cook it for me anyways because it's bad for my health. In the anime, the battle is getting intense. But I'm not sure about this... there were an awful lot of Avex advertisements in Zoids Genesis. There was an Avex endorsed ad for the Kamen Rider OST and then there was one for the Zoids anime too. Not only is "DAI" (don't feel like typing the whole name) advertised but the voice actors in the anime sing the ending song too, so they were advertising for their own OST too.

Later, Miki and I stopped by Walgreens to pick up some allergy meds and basic stuff I needed like batteries for my Zoids at home and some extra snacks so I wouldn't starve in Chicago.

Miki will be home tomorrow. We'll get to hang out, but she'll be at the gym first thing in the morning. I'll just build another Zoid or watch more anime while I'm waiting at home, it'll be fun.

I woke up late again.
I needed to do some shopping before work today. I finally bought the paint for the Murasame Liger kit. Everything at the craft store was on sale, I'm so lucky. I didn't get my phone checked out yet, I'll do it tomorrow. We went to go buy some burgers for lunch.

This is a lobster burger. Mmmmmm... it was so good. This one has lobster, strange lettuce, Swiss cheese, butter, asparagus, tomatoes, and black angus beef. I bought one for Miki too and a Kobe burger for the road. The Kobe burger was interesting. It had sauteed mushrooms/onions, Gorgonzola, prosciutto, and Kobe beef (total lie, you can't turn Kobe beef into a burger patty, it's just wrong).

When I got to the restaurant, it wasn't too busy at all. The three of them looked like they can handle it, so I just went back to Lake in the Hills.

I spent the rest of the day watching more Zoids Genesis. I then did some online browsing. I really want a "Soul Tiger" now. I really want Seijuurou's Zoid. I want the Soul Tiger now, it looks so cool.

I wonder what kind of motor it runs on?
This model runs in the $45 range. I want it. I think I'm going to buy the Soul Tiger online soon. Seijuurou is just a really cool pilot too. A very cool ninja pilot?

My back pain returned a few days after arriving in Chicago.
It still hurts even till now. Last time it was a herniated disk. This time around I'm not quite sure. Behind the spine there are two main nerves that lead into the legs. One is the motor nerve and the other is the sensory nerve. If something happens to the motor nerve, then you become paralyzed. If the sensory nerve is disrupted, there will be severe pain. When there's something wrong with the nerve, there's a 50/50 chance, motor skills or pain. All I can say is, I hope I don't end up in a wheelchair. I would prefer not to distribute further to my disabilities.

Miki always arrives in Batavia every Saturday. I need to call and remind her to bring the i-pod cord. Do I need anything else from Chicago? No, I think I have all I need.

The restaurant was really busy today. Many tables and many regulars. Completely packed, no walking space. I had to handwrite some special menus too. Since I'm smarter than the manager, I wrote two of them and went to xerox them at the Batavia Public Library. I made lots of copies. If anyone is wondering why I didn't type it and just e-mail it to Kinkos-FedEX Office, it's because my computer still doesn't have Microsoft Word. I'm always put in charge of the menu. Changes, revisions, design, assembling, new items, omitting old items, price changes, and special promotions... I'm in charge of all of it. Alignment is what really takes forever and I kill many trees in the process.

I'm allowed to sleep in now because of my jetlag. So I can go to work as late as I want. Tomorrow, I need to buy a new laptop case, because my old one busted at Narita Airport. I need to complain to T-mobile about my defective phone and the harassing phone calls that aren't even calling for the right person. I'm also seeing Miki tomorrow. I think I want to eat a hamburger for lunch tomorrow if that is at all relevant.

I wanted to write last night, but ended up not writing.
Basically, I purposely lock my posting entries at around 11:30pm, leave it blank, and I go off to do something else. So in reality, I don't start writing until 3:00 - 4:00am.

Last night I lock the entry around the usual time, then I watched many episodes of "Big Bang Theory." I watched up until 3:30am, I was way too tired to write, which is why I left that very random message in the previous entry.

So anyways, my summer is ending soon, I need to get back to life. But for now, I'm trying to enjoy my time off for as much as I can. There hasn't been much for me to do lately. All I do is sleep in, eat, build the Zoids I got from Japan, eat, watch anime, and sit around the house. I'm loving the Zoids I got from Japan. I obtained some super rare ones. I really am a hardcore Zoid collector. Just yesterday I finished building Liger Zero's custom "Schneider" CAS unit. It's a rare armor upgrade exclusive to Japan. Liger Zero has 4 upgrades (now I own all four), Schneider, Jager, Panzer, and Phoenix. Phoenix was the odd one out, because it was the only upgrade for LZ that was in the form of "Blox." Which are cubic pieces that must be assembled using plastic pegs... so tedious. Normally, most Zoid kits are click and fit, Blox fall apart easily due from instability.

Besides immersing myself in the wonderful toys from Japan, I've been watching animes to pass the time. I just finished "Kuroshitsuji," oh wow was that anime dark, well... it's not as morbid and messed up as "Hell Girl." I haven't seen it, but I heard it's gruesome. Of course I watched some Zoid animes too. The first Zoid anime I ever saw was "ZOIDS: New Century Zero" back in 1999. It takes place after "Chaotic Century," Zoids are used for sport and competition in "New Century." In "Chaotic Century" Zoids were used as weapons of war. Right now I'm watching "ZOIDS: Genesis," which takes place 1000 years after "New Century" and Zoids are used as war machines once again. I'm hooked on the opening song now, I think it's catchy.
It's "Yotaka no Yume," by Do As Infinity.
I like the OP for ZOIDS: Genesis. It's a good song. After watching the first few episodes, I really like the main character's Murasame Liger, it's super cool. I have the model, but haven't built it yet because I don't have paint for it. I need to go buy some model paint. This is the first Zoid I've come across that requires paint. Murasame Liger is an expensive Zoid too, very rare.

This morning, I was going to watch more anime, but I've been pulled back into work already. Apparently, there was a party reservation for 50 people? Yeah right the biggest table I saw today only had 10 people. They lied to me!

Tomorrow's a Friday, busy day... always a busy day at work on Friday. Can we fire the other waitress since I've returned from Japan and we will no longer be needing her services? I want to watch more anime, I hope the lunch rush is dead tomorrow.

So, I woke up early...
Umm... I'm still suffering from jetlag,.. I can fall asleep until 6:00am. I sadly don't wake up until 2:00pm. Waking up at 8:00am means I only sleep for 2 hours. Imagine the grumpiness. The dentist appointment is at 10:00am. More cavity fillings, my jaw and teeth hurt so much!

Later I was dropped off, alone, at Ikea to go eat some soft delicious Swedish meatballs with lingon berry sauce. I walked around, explored, found a cool sofa. I was picked up and we did some grocery shopping. We had a barbecue. I ate blood dripping raw steak, because that's the way I like it. The sweetness of the blood and fat still remains when the meat is raw. I'm not trying to sound creepy, but I've been eating that way since I was a child. It contains lots of iron.

Maciek visited me a few hours ago. He came to pick up the souvenirs I got him a cute Naruto in Asakusa cell strap and an awesome violent shirt with a cute bear (he called it pedo-bear) viciously cutting up Ronald McDonald. Maciek loved it because he knew the bear. He stayed for a bit and I showed him all the cool stuff I got from Japan.

I dunno, my life just really feels pointless.
I realized a long time ago, but maybe my parents are right. I truly am useless. I've been told that I'm useless for all of my life. I am of no contributing value to society. No one needs a loser like me. I never did care for college. As matter of fact, I don't want to attend classes! I don't like my classes, I don't like where my life is going. It's true that people say I'm smart, but I'm a different kind of smart. I only know how to resolve peoples problems and bring smiles to them. As for knowledge, I only know random useless facts, my memory of facts is decent. Nobody cares if I know about the fall of Edo, the secrets and origins of the himitsu bako, the American Revolution, the specs of every passenger aircraft (right down to the engine and fuel tanks), filming skills, or agricultural knowledge (don't ask). I know useless things. There is no place for me in college. I have no interest in classes. It's been so many years and I still haven't decided on a major! Society doesn't need lazy good for nothings like myself. For me, I would prefer to rot on the side of the street like the useless fool I am.

I needed to get that written down, my emo-ness always weighs me down.
Now I feel better.
